I will be giving two presentations on the creative/cultural/knowledge economy in the next few weeks here in Halifax.
- [UPDATED] On SUNDAY October 17 at 6:30 pm I’ll be presenting a public talk on “creativity,” gentrification, foreclosure and the capitalist crisis as an intervention [POST-]Nocturne, Halifax’s spin on the all-night art festival, modeled after Toronto’s Nuit Blanch. I’ll be speaking [AT THE ROBERT STREET SOCIAL CENTRE, 5684 Robert St, Halifax]. That weekend there will also be a tent city to protest against the government’s failure to provide affordable housing.

- On Saturday, October 30 at 3:30 I’ll be giving a paper titled “The knowledge/culture work of race: an intervention” on a panel at the Challenges for Work and Workers in a Knowledge Economy conference at Saint Mary’s University. Here is a draft of this paper.
